What would you consider as evidence that JWs have "The Truth"?
by Tuesday inone of the questions i ask jws before discussing anything with them is:.
"what facts, evidence or otherwise would you consider as proof that jehovah's witnesses are not the true religion?".

Has Your Growth As A Person Been Stunted Because Of Being A Witness?

"As a person" By this do you mean that we could of developed a career in many of the arts, businesses, schoolings, disciplines etc. If so I would have to say yes. I was stunted.
Why? Because many of us were told the end is near and there is no need to get on with life in anything other than do more, do more, preach the word, come to meetings, etc.
I used to be a LAW LIBRAIAN, and would of grown in this field as a para-legal and unto becoming a trial lawyer like LAW and ORDER.
However growth as a person in this discipline of law was put away because of being a witness for over 30 years.
I sometimes try to imagine what good works I could of had achieve in this disipline.
At 65 years of age now, I do a lot of reading to occupy my days.
I'm sure many others, yourself included Mini, "could of been a contender" ala, Marlon Brandon, in the various disciplines etc. open to us at that time. But, were stunted because of being a witness.

They were afraid of me. They would not call on me for answer after they gave one.
I was a researcher on all discussions and they knew it.
So, they did not want to be shown up in front of the congreation.
Many times I would wait to hear what they would say and then raise my hand and they would say we have to move on, afraid I would enlighten the brothers because they were wishy washy. And it would show that they did not do their homework.

Where are the answers?
by Decided inalso, many people want answers, i doubt there is one single person on earth who hasn't questioned life and our purpose, and the idea of living just to die is nothing to feel free over...in fact the idea of nothingness and no answers is a prison i don't want to visit, and that is abusive in itself.. this was copied from a previous post.. i'm getting depressed over trying to find the real answers to life and the reason we are here.
i've read the bible but there is nothing to prove any of it to be actual facts.
if it is true god sure does change his actions and views as time goes by.

not so long ago i had a conversation with one of the witnesses at my door, and i drew his attention to the fact that nowhere in matthew 24 - mark13 - luke 21 did jesus mention any appointed organization on the earth, when he gave the sign of his coming.
i pointed out to him that all jesus foretold was the prevalence of many false prophets.
